What a Buffet Wedding Looks Like on the Day

Victoria Burroughes

Once you've decided a buffet suits your day better than a formal sit-down, the next question is practical: how does it work?

Two ways to have it. With a Delivery Buffet, everything arrives chilled, with heating and serving instructions included, and that's it - no strangers on-site, just the food, ready for whoever's around to lay out. With On-Site Buffet Service, I turn up, finish any hot food, then leave once it's done. There's no unfamiliar face at your party, but you're not the one setting up a buffet table an hour before your own wedding, either.

Disposables as standard. Everything's served on disposable plates and platters unless you'd rather borrow proper serveware (which I lend free of charge and collect whenever suits you). The point of both is the same: nothing gets left behind for venue staff to clear, and nobody's stuck washing up on their wedding day.

The food leans plant-led and generous. A spread that looks abundant rather than rationed - a mix of vibrant salads, a hearty main or two, good bread and butter as standard. If you'd like meat on the table, I can source high-welfare cuts from local butchers, served alongside the plant-led dishes rather than instead of them.

Timing is genuinely simple. For a Delivery Buffet, I need enough notice to have everything dropped off before your guests arrive - we'll agree a window that works with your day. For On-Site Service, I'll come in ahead of your buffet slot, set up while your ceremony or drinks reception is happening elsewhere, and have it ready to go the moment you want people eating.

There's no minimum fuss around numbers. From ten guests up to fifty, the format doesn't change, just the quantity and the pricing band. Whether you're looking at a handful of close family or the full fifty, the day runs the same way: food that's ready when you need it, nothing formal getting in the way, and nothing left over for anyone to deal with once it's done.

If that sounds like the right fit, the full pricing by guest count and number of dishes is on my micro wedding catering page - have a look and get in touch with your date.
