A note on weekly delivery
Weekly delivery is changing shape this September
This summer gave me space to look honestly at which parts of Vicky's Kitchen are working well. Weekly meal delivery is staying — that much is certain.
Cooking for you each week, planning the rotation, delivering on Mondays — it's some of the most meaningful work I do. Being a small window of calm in a busy week matters to me, and I want to keep doing it for a long time.
The honest truth is that weekly delivery, in its current form, isn't as profitable as corporate lunches or retreat catering. A few changes bring it in line with the rest of the business, so I can keep it running well into the future.
What's changing from September
Delivery fee: a £2 fee applies to all delivery orders — fuel is the largest cost in running the weekly round.
Minimum spend: delivery orders need a £20 minimum.
Collection stays free, with no minimum.
Orders over £30 keep free delivery and 10% off.
Term-time only: school holidays bring a real drop in orders as routines change, so I'm pausing over the breaks rather than running at a loss.
You might order a little less often as a result, and that's completely fine. Fewer, larger deliveries work better for me than frequent small ones, and I'll always be around for the weeks you need extra help.
Alongside these changes, I've added local and artisan products to the shop — Chilli Willy's among them — to make hitting that minimum easier, with things you'll actually use.
TL;DR
- £2 delivery fee from September
- £20 minimum order for delivery
- Collection remains free, no minimum
- Orders over £30: free delivery + 10% off
- Term-time only
Have something in mind for the shop? Store cupboard staples, a local sauce or condiment, something you already pick up from the supermarket — I'd rather stock things you'll genuinely use than pad out a shelf.
